6:00pm- 9:30pm

Redbridge Teachers Centre

Melbourne Road Ilford

What is it?

TeachMeet is a chance for us to share what has and is effective, exciting and innovative technology in our schools in an informal environment.

Those of us who have attended Teachmeets before have found them to be inspirational and a great form of CPD.

You may want to look at previous TEACHMEETS, in particular the national event @ BETT.

Look also @ Nicholas Hughe’s Youtube video that he took @ this event, these two links should give you a flavour of what we are striving for on May the 19th.

If you come for the evening, then you can either present (see below), or just listen to inspiring presentations on ICT in our schools.

Where and when is it?

In Redbridge Teachers Centre follow this link for a map. We will gather in the hall for a prompt 6:00pm start.

Sponsors

The event is being put together by the Boroughs of Redbridge, Havering and Newham, though this is growing, we are also grateful for sponsorship from Softease.

What happens?

Unlike the Redbridge ICT Conference that is taking place during the day, this event is an unconference:

  • You will not be expected to sit through long presentations.
  • We invite anyone to contribute their experiences with technology in their schools through means of micropresentation (seven minutes long) or a nano presentation (two minutes long).

Who can come?

Anyone involved in education. You do not have to be an adviser or coordinator, in fact we’d prefer to hear from those that are actually doing it in the classroom. This event is for both primary and secondary.

Rules

  • You can show short video clips or images of technology in your school, but please no Powerpoints.
  • Choose between micro-presentations, thses last no more than seven minutes or nano presentations of two minutes.
  • There will be no strict running order, rather speakers will be chosen at random, using the electronic fruit machine and administered by the MC
  • You must register for the event, even if you do not intend to speak

How do I register?

If you from Redbridge, then please help us by using RedbridgePDC, but also by adding your name to one of the three lists below:

I think that this is a fantastic and creative opportunity to share possible out of the box ideas. I have yet to decide whether I’ll just attend but I am very tempted to prepare a nano presentation or a couple of them
